New Art Forming: Hands-on Workshop in Art and Technology
Artists often seek inspiration from the manufacturing world and take these ideas to new and interesting places. Vacuum forming is used to create plastic molds, cases, and packaging by heating thermal-plastic sheets and removing the air between the plastic and a form; this creates a thin shell around the form called – the mold. In this hands-on workshop, participants will build their own vacuum former and practice mold-making. We will explore the possibilities about how to incorporate this tool into your curriculum.
