Brainstorm / Draft / Revise
When a classroom has a community of writers, students are empowered to communicate and connect; sharing personal stories, interests and reflections. Students develop their voice as writers, honing their craft and learning to articulate their ideas in written form.
As a result of participating in this web experience, you will have new strategies to help your students tackle the writing process and new strategies to help you assess your students’ understanding of writing. We will offer examples of students working with teachers in the classroom and explain how brainstorm/draft/revise can look across grade levels. You’ll deepen your understanding of how to integrate theme and student choice into writing.
